ServEquip sells distribution division to focus on service and maintenance

ServEquip, the well-known UK distributors of specialist foodservice equipment for QSR and pub multiple operators, is selling its distribution division to focus on its service and maintenance business.

Established nearly forty years ago in 1972, ServEquip represents an impressive range of international manufacturers including Henny Penny, Ayr King, COF, Egro, Ugolini, and Frigomat. The foodservice equipment distribution business will be sold to another leading catering equipment distributor, Kent-based Jestic Foodservice Equipment. Under the terms of the deal, all of ServEquip's existing equipment brands, supporting sales personnel, and distribution rights will transfer to Jestic. The company will trade under the Jestic name, initially as a subsidiary, and will be seeking to significantly expand its business. ServEquip will retain its brand name, and will now trade as ServEquip Assistance UK Ltd, concentrating on the growing market for services to quick-service restaurants, pub multiples, and other specialist sectors, working alongside equipment manufacturers and importers. The company will move into new premises in the Croydon area, and is making a significant investment in new IT systems to support the new venture, which will be led by ServEquip's long-serving managing director Ray Cumbo.

Commenting on the deal, Ray Cumbo said:
“These developments mark a new beginning for all of us at ServEquip. In the past our servicing operations merely supported the distribution activity; we will now focus on attracting new service and maintenance business. With our specialist expertise, and long experience, I'm confident that this new venture will have a bright future.”
